VALEPTOL SYRUP belongs to a group of medicines called anticonvulsants or anti-epileptic agents. VALEPTOL SYRUP is used to treat epilepsy in adults and children.

Special Instructions for VALEPTOL SYRUP

• Take VALEPTOL SYRUP with or just after a meal. This will help in reducing the chances of getting certain side effects such as nausea or upset stomach.
• You may experience weight gain, allergic reactions and slight tremors while taking VALEPTOL SYRUP.
• Discuss with your doctor if you experience any while taking VALEPTOL SYRUP.
• Drive only when you are mentally alert and physically stable.
• Do not take VALEPTOL SYRUP if you are pregnant or planning to conceive.
• Avoid taking VALEPTOL SYRUP if you have liver problems, if you have a genetic problem caused by a mitochondrial disorder, if you have a rare illness called porphyria and if you have a known metabolic disorder.
• Consumption of alcohol along with VALEPTOL SYRUP is not recommended.
• Check with your doctor before taking other medication along with VALEPTOL SYRUP (painkillers, medicines for depression, or Benzodiazepines, warfarin, Cholestyramine, Temozolomide, Propofol). .

Take the medicine strip or bottle with you, even if it is empty or distorted. Do not panic if you experience nausea, vomiting, pupils of the eye become smaller, dizziness, loss of consciousness, breathing problems, headaches, seizures, confusion, memory loss and unusual or inappropriate behavior. Take a family member/friend with you to the hospital. Your doctors will ensure your symptoms to subside.
