Uses of LOTAS HT TABLET

LOTAS HT TABLET is a combination of two drugs: hydrochlorothiazide (diuretic) and losartan (antihypertensive). LOTAS HT TABLET is used to treat high blood pressure.

Special Instructions for LOTAS HT TABLET

• Take LOTAS HT TABLET irrespective of meals and at the same time daily for best results.
• Take LOTAS HT TABLET with caution if you have kidney disease, heart problems, diabetes or had severe vomiting or diarrhoea in the past few days.
• Do not take LOTAS HT TABLET if you have liver diseases, gout or have trouble passing urine.
• Avoid taking LOTAS HT TABLET if you have intolerance to lactose or other sugars, as the medicine contains lactose. Please consult the doctor, if you do not know whether you have this condition.
• Continue the medication until your doctor tells you to stop. Take LOTAS HT TABLET even if you feel better. This will help to keep your blood pressure in check.
• Inform the doctor about the LOTAS HT TABLET intake, if you have an appointment for surgery.
• Also, keep your doctor informed about all the medicines you are taking currently and have taken in the past, especially, over-the-counter medicines and herbal products.
• Seek medical help immediately if you experience any allergic reactions such as swelling of lips, throat, tongue or itching and rashes etc.
• Drive only if you are mentally alert and physically stable after consuming LOTAS HT TABLET. 
• You may find the need to urinate more frequently than before while on LOTAS HT TABLET medication.
• Inform the doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before starting LOTAS HT TABLET.
• Avoid foods with high salt content. Drink plenty of water to keep yourself hydrated.
• If you are diagnosed with high blood pressure, do not skip regular check-ups. It is important to monitor for high blood pressure to ensure the medication works and the condition does not get worse.

Q) What is LOTAS HT TABLET used for? A) LOTAS HT TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called antihypertensives. It is used to lower blood pressure in the individuals with high blood pressure. Hypertension, also known as high blood pressure, is a condition in which the heart pumps blood with more force than usual and the pressure exerted by the blood on blood vessels increases. This results in more pressure on the heart. If hypertension is untreated, it can result in severe conditions including heart attack. It can be difficult to self-diagnose hypertension because in most cases, it doesn't show any symptoms, until the condition becomes severe. Ask your doctor to check your blood pressure whenever you visit a doctor.
Q) Can I take LOTAS HT TABLET if I have low potassium levels? A) No, it is recommended not to take LOTAS HT TABLET if you have low levels of potassium in your blood. When you take LOTAS HT TABLET, you may experience frequent urge to urination. When water leaves our body in the form of urine, it takes sodium and potassium ions with it. As a result, the potassium levels in your body may decrease. If you already have low potassium levels, speak with your doctor as he may suggest alternative therapy.
