Uses of LIZOLID INJECTION

LIZOLID INJECTION is an antibiotic and it is used to treat bacterial infections. It is mostly used to treat pneumonia and skin infections.

Special Instructions for LIZOLID INJECTION

• Do not self-administer. LIZOLID INJECTION LIZOLID INJECTION will be given by a registered nurse or a health care professional.
• LIZOLID INJECTION will be given intravenously.
• While you are on LIZOLID INJECTION, avoid taking cheese, soy sauce, yeast extracts, alcohol particularly draught beers and wine as they may increase your blood pressure.
• Complete the full course of antibiotic, do not leave it in the mid-way despite symptomatic relief.
• Regularly monitor your blood pressure as taking LIZOLID INJECTION can increase your blood pressure.
• Before driving or performing any strenuous activity after you have been given LIZOLID INJECTION, then make sure you are alert and normal enough to take up the above activities as this medicine may makes you dizzy.
• If you experience tingling, numbness or blurred vision then consult your doctor immediately. and t These symptoms have been mostly reported in patients who have taken LIZOLID INJECTION for more than 28 days. LIZOLID INJECTION is usually not used for more than 28 days.

LIZOLID INJECTION with antidepressants may cause serotonin (natural substance) level increase which leads to serotonin syndrome and symptoms of serotonin syndrome includes high body temperature, agitation, tremor, increased reflexes, dilated pupils, sweating, and diarrhoea. Please check with your doctor before taking the two together.

Q. Does LIZOLID INJECTION cause decreased blood cell count?
A. Yes, LIZOLID INJECTION may cause decreased blood cell count but it is not necessary for all people to experience. LIZOLID INJECTION may interfere with bone marrow activity which in result decrease RBC, WBC, and platelets count. Decrease in RBC, WBC, and platelets count may lead to anaemia (lack of blood), thrombocytopenia (abnormally low levels of platelets), and neutropenia (abnormally low levels of WBC).
