Uses of LACASA 150MG TABLET
LACASA 150MG TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called antiepileptic medicines. LACASA 150MG TABLET is used to treat epilepsy. LACASA 150MG TABLET is used in adults, adolescents and children aged 4 years and older.
Special Instructions for LACASA 150MG TABLET
• Take LACASA 150MG TABLET irrespective of meals. You are advised to take normal diet and avoid high fat (ketogenic) diet while taking LACASA 150MG TABLET.
• Tell your doctor if you are allergic to LACASA 150MG TABLET or any other ingredients in the medicine.
• Avoid taking LACASA 150MG TABLET if you have a certain type of heart beat problem called second - or third -degree AV block.
• Keep your doctor informed about all the ongoing or past drugs that you have taken, for example carbamazepine, itraconazole, ritonavir and St. Johns wort etc.
• LACASA 150MG TABLET is not recommended for children under 4 years of age.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or planning for pregnancy or are a breast-feeding mother.
• Drinking alcohol with LACASA 150MG TABLET is not recommended as it may increase unwanted effects of LACASA 150MG TABLET.

Q) How does LACASA 150MG TABLET work? A) LACASA 150MG TABLET belongs to group of medicines called antiepileptic medicines. LACASA 150MG TABLET works by stabilizing the activity in the brain. Brain and nerves are made up of many nerve cells which communicate with each other through the electrical signals. For proper function of brain and nerves these signals should be carefully regulated and when abnormally rapid and repetitive electrical signals are released in the brain, brains normal function is disturbed. This can result in fits or seizures. LACASA 150MG TABLET works by preventing sodium from entering the nerve cells when they begin to fire rapid and repetitive electrical signals. A build-up of sodium in the nerve cells is necessary for the electrical signal to build up and be passed on. LACASA 150MG TABLET prevents the excessive electrical activity that causes fits or seizures.
Q) What if I take more than the prescribed dose? A) If you take more than the prescribed dose, inform your family members/friends and call your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital. Take the medicine strip or bottle with you, even if it is empty or distorted. Do not panic if you experience dizziness, feeling sick (nausea) or being sick, fits (seizures), heart beat problems such a slow, fast or irregular heartbeat, coma or a fall in blood pressure with rapid heartbeat and sweating. Take a family member/friend with you to the hospital. Your doctors will ensure your symptoms to subside.
