A. Ezolent Forte Tablet is a combination of two drugs: Escitalopram (selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor) and Etizolam (benzodiazepine). Escitalopram works by increasing neurotransmitter serotonin levels in the brain thereby, helps in treating depression. Etizolam works by increasing the levels of nerve-calming chemical called GABA and suppresses the abnormal activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Thereby, increases calming effects by inducing sleep, relaxing muscles and decreasing anxiety.

A. No, Ezolent Forte Tablet is not recommended for use during pregnancy. If Ezolent Forte Tablet is taken in the third trimester (last 3 months) of pregnancy, it may lead to a critical condition in babies known as persistent pulmonary hypertension of the new born (PPHN). If you notice symptoms such as baby appear blueish and is breathing faster, immediately consult a doctor.

A. Yes, Ezolent Forte Tablet may cause weight gain as their appetite (hunger) returns. Generally, when people are depressed, they may lose their appetite.
