DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET belongs to a group of medicines called tricyclic antidepressant (TCA). DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET used to treat depression and can also helps in reducing feelings of anxiety.
Special Instructions for DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET
• Take DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET irrespective of meals and at the same time daily for best results. Take DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET only when prescribed by a doctor. Do not self-medicate.
• Avoid taking DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET if you have or ever had an irregular heart beat or any other heart problems, liver problems, glaucoma, if you have enlarged prostate, if you been diagnosed with mania and if you have fits. If anyone of the above applies to you, please avoid taking DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET and ask your doctor for more information.
• DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET is not recommended for children.

A. DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET works by inhibiting the re-uptake of Noradrenaline, Dopamine and Serotonin (5 HT) in the CNS nerve terminals. This will result in an increased concentration of neurotransmitters in the synaptic cleft and produces antidepressant action. DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET also have anticholinergic and antihistaminic activities.

You may experience the following side-effects while taking DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET such as drowsiness, increased sweating, skin rashes, changes in sexual functions, low blood pressure, which may cause dizziness or fainting, confusion, changes in levels of sugar and sodium in the blood, enlargement of the testicles, swelling of the breasts in men, milk production in the breasts not related to pregnancy or breast feeding, impairment of movement, abnormal body movements, delusions (abnormal thoughts), nervousness, seizures, speech difficulties, weakness and tiredness. Some medicines may reduce the effect of DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET or interact with DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET or cause serious side-effects when given at same time such as betanidine, debrisoquine, guanethidine, clonidine, quinidine, amiodarone, felcainide, procainamide, propafenone or disopyramide, Sotalol, quinidine, cisapride, pentamidine, isetionate, clonidine, Rifampicin (an antibacterial), codeine, morphine, coproxamol and co-dydramol, Tramadol, ephedrine, pseudoephedrine, adrenaline and noradrenaline, Pimozide and sertindole, Cimetidine, amlodipine , diltiazem, nifedipine, verapamil, phenytoin , primidone, carbamazepine, Warfarin, coumarin or other anticoagulants and Ritonavir. So, always inform and check with your doctor before taking DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET with other medications.

A. No, you are not advised to take other antidepressant medications like mono-amine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) at the same time as DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET or within 14 days of stopping them e.g selegiline, rasagiline.
Q. Can I take oral contraceptives with DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET?
A. No, you are advised not to take DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET along with Oestrogen-containing contraceptives, as they may decrease the anti-depressant effect of DRUTHIP 75MG TABLET.
