Uses of DEGOUT 40MG TABLET
DEGOUT 40MG TABLET is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. DEGOUT 40MG TABLET is used to lower hyperuricemia (high uric acid levels in blood) in gout patients and thus prevents gout attacks. Additionally, DEGOUT 40MG TABLET is used to treat and prevent high blood uric acid levels in patients who are receiving chemotherapy for blood cancers.
Special Instructions for DEGOUT 40MG TABLET
• Take DEGOUT 40MG TABLET with or without food at same time for best results. Take DEGOUT 40MG TABLET as prescribed by your doctor.
• Your doctor might advise you to get blood tests done before and during the treatment to check liver function.
• During the first weeks or months of treatment you may experience gout attacks. It is suggested to take DEGOUT 40MG TABLET every day and everyday use may stop gout flares occurrence and may lessen the pain as it prevents crystals build up.
• It is recommended to watch your weight as DEGOUT 40MG TABLET may cause weight gain.
• It is suggested to drink plenty of water and eat low fat food.
• Inform your doctor if you have or have had heart problems, renal disease, liver disease or thyroid problems.
• Also, inform your doctor if you are allergic to allopurinol (used in gout treatment) and if you ever treated for Lesch-Nyhan syndrome.
• Consult your doctor immediately if you experience allergic reactions while taking DEGOUT 40MG TABLET. Symptoms of allergic reactions might be rash, difficulty in breathing, swelling of limbs or face, cardiac arrest and fever with swollen lymph nodes.
