Angiotensin-II is a substance produced in the body which narrow the blood vessels thus increasing the blood pressure. The effect of angiotensin II is blocked by telmisartan, thereby relaxes the blood vessels, and lowers blood pressure. Metoprolol works by making the heart more efficient at pumping blood around the body and slows down the heart rate.
