Uses of Deletus Tablet

Deletus Tablet is the combination of three drugs: Phenylephrine (Beta-blocker), Dextromethorphan (Non-opioid antitussive) and Triprolidine (H1 antihistamine). Deletus Tablet is used to treat dry cough.

Special Instructions for Deletus Tablet

• Take Deletus Tablet irrespective of meals and at the same time daily for best results.
• Avoid consumption of alcohol while on Deletus Tablet medication.
• Deletus Tablet may not be effective wet cough (cough that expels phlegm). So, consult your doctor/pharmacist before taking Deletus Tablet. 
• If you feel dizzy or drowsy after taking Deletus Tablet, please do not perform actions that involve decision making, use of cognitive skills or physical activity, such as driving or operating heavy machinery.
• Take Deletus Tablet with caution if you have emphysema, chronic bronchitis, glaucoma, diabetes, thyroid disease or heart diseases.
• If your symptoms are not relieved or reduced after taking Deletus Tablet, stop taking Deletus Tablet and please contact your doctor.
• Inform your doctor about all your ongoing and past medication, including, over the counter medicines and herbal products.
• Do not take Deletus Tablet if you are allergic to phenylephrine, dextromethorphan or triprolidine. If you observe any allergic reactions such as swelling of lips, face, throat, itching, redness or difficulty breathing, immediately contact your doctor.

Q) How does Deletus Tablet work? A) Deletus Tablet is a combination of three drugs: Phenylephrine, Dextromethorphan and Triprolidine. Phenylephrine is a selective alpha-1 agonist which acts on blood vessels and helps to relieve runny nose, post nasal drip, which helps in decreasing the cough. Dextromethorphan is a cough centre suppressant that act on the cough centre which is presented in the brain. This helps to decrease the frequency of coughs. Triprolidine is an antihistamine which blocks the histamine receptors and relieves itching, inflammation and pain due to excess cough and cold.
Q) Can I take Deletus Tablet with rasagiline? A) No, you are recommended not to take Deletus Tablet with rasagiline. Rasagiline belongs to a group of antidepressant medicines called MAO Inhibitors. The affect of Deletus Tablet may reduce as a result of MAO Inhibitors. Hence, they are generally not prescribed to take at the same time. Consult your doctor before taking rasagiline with Deletus Tablet.
Q) Can I take Deletus Tablet if I have high blood pressure? A) Patients with high blood pressure should take Deletus Tablet with caution. Deletus Tablet may result in increasing your blood pressure. You are recommended to take Deletus Tablet only when prescribed by your doctor.
Q) Can I take Deletus Tablet for cough due to emphysema? A) No, Deletus Tablet may not treat cough that is caused by emphysema. However, if your cough is not due to asthma, emphysema or chronic bronchitis, you can take Deletus Tablet. If you are not sure if you have the above-mentioned conditions, please speak with your doctor/pharmacist. You are recommended to consult your doctor before taking Deletus Tablet for your cough.
Q) Is Deletus Tablet safe for children? A) Yes, Deletus Tablet is safe for children above 6 years of age. However, Deletus Tablet is given to children under adult supervision. For children below 6 years, give Deletus Tablet to the child only when it is prescribed by child specialist.
