Uses of ALLERMAX TABLET
ALLERMAX TABLET is a combination of two drugs: Montelukast (Leukotriene receptor antagonist) and Levocetirizine (antihistamine). ALLERMAX TABLET is used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, and sneezing. ALLERMAX TABLET is also known to relieve hives and itching.
Special Instructions for ALLERMAX TABLET
• Take ALLERMAX TABLET daily at the same time irrespective of meals for best results.
• Self-medication is not recommended while taking ALLERMAX TABLET.
• Depending on your age, weight and condition, your doctor will decide the dose. Elderly people should take it in a lower dose as prescribed by the doctor. Do not give ALLERMAX TABLET to children until and unless prescribed by a doctor.
• Consumption of alcohol/smoking is not recommended while taking ALLERMAX TABLET.
• Keep your doctor informed if have heart disease, high blood pressure, uneven heart rate, diabetes, a hormonal condition called hyperthyroidism or low levels of potassium in your blood.
• Driving or doing activities that require mental and physical coordination is not recommended while taking ALLERMAX TABLET as it may cause mild drowsiness and sleepiness.
• Consumption of ALLERMAX TABLET is not recommended if you are planning to conceive. Breastfeeding women are also advised not to take it without consulting a doctor.
• Keep your doctor informed if you have or had any previous history of heart, kidney or liver diseases.
• Please consult your doctor immediately if you experience sudden dip in blood pressure, severe allergic rashes and swelling in the ankle, face, lips or mouth or extreme tiredness with muscle weakness while taking ALLERMAX TABLET.
• Your doctor may discontinue or change the medicine.

Q. How does ALLERMAX TABLET work? A. ALLERMAX TABLET is a combination of two drugs. Montelukast is a Leukotriene receptor antagonist. It works by blocking the effects of leukotriene (substance produced by the body in response to certain triggers) that cause narrowing and swelling of airways in the lungs. Levocetirizine is an antihistamine. It works by blocking a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.
Q. Is ALLERMAX TABLET sedative medicine? A. ALLERMAX TABLET is not a sedative drug. However, it has been known to cause drowsiness and sleepiness. You are advised to take it in the evening or night time to avoid day time drowsiness. Additionally, you should not take up activities like driving and activities which require mental alertness along with physical coordination. Talk to your doctor in case you experience excessive sedation(drowsiness) with ALLERMAX TABLET. Your doctor may change the dosage or prescribe you an alternative medicine so that you can carry out day to day work without any hinderance.
Q. Can I take cetirizine with ALLERMAX TABLET? A. ALLERMAX TABLET can be taken with cetirizine. No drug-drug interactions have been reported between these two drugs. However, do not self- medicate check with your doctor once before taking these medicines together.

The expiry date refers to the last day of that month and the efficacy of the medicine is reduced after the expiry date.
