Uses of ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET

ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET is a combination of two drugs: Montelukast (Leukotriene receptor antagonist) and Fexofenadine (antihistamine). ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET is used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose, and sneezing. ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET is also known to relieve hives and itching.

Special Instructions for ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET

• Take ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET irrespective of meals. You are advised to drink plenty of fluids while you are taking ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET. 
• Self-medication is not recommended while taking ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET.
• Depending on your age, weight and condition, your doctor will decide the dose. Elderly people should take it in a lower dose as prescribed by the doctor. Do not give ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET to children until and unless prescribed by a doctor.
• Consumption of alcohol along with ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET is not recommended as it may cause excessive sleepiness.
• If you have heart disease, high blood pressure, uneven heart rate, diabetes, a hormonal condition called hyperthyroidism or low levels of potassium in your blood, please inform your doctor before taking ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET. 
• Be cautious while driving and engaging in activities which require mental and physical coordination. ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET can cause mild drowsiness and sleepiness.
• It is not recommended to take ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET if you are planning to conceive or pregnant. Breast feeding women are also advised not to take it without consulting a doctor.
• Take ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET with caution specially if you have or had any kidney or liver diseases.
• Please do not take ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET if you are allergic to it.

Q) How does ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET work? ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET is a combination of two medicines, Montelukast (Leukotriene receptor antagonist) and Fexofenadine (antihistamine). Montelukast works by blocking the effects of leukotriene (substance produced by the body in response to certain triggers) that causes narrowing and swelling of airways in the lungs. Fexofenadine works by blocking a chemical messenger (histamine) responsible for sneezing, runny nose and watery eyes.
Q) Can I take cetirizine with ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET? A) ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET can be taken with cetirizine. No drug-drug interactions have been reported between these two drugs. However, do not self- medicate check with your doctor once before taking these medicines together.

A) Yes, one can take ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET for treating allergies however, ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET has been extensively used for the treatment of allergic respiratory illnesses such as seasonal allergies (runny nose/eyes, sneezing, watery eyes) and exercise-induced asthma. ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET is used to relieve allergy symptoms such as watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes/nose and sneezing.
Q) Is ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET a sedative medicine? A) ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET is not a sedative drug. However, it has been known to cause drowsiness and sleepiness. You are advised to take it in the evening or night time to avoid day time drowsiness. Additionally, you should not take up activities like driving and activities which require mental alertness along with physical coordination. Talk to your doctor in case you experience excessive sedation (drowsiness) with ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET. Your doctor may change the dosage or prescribe you an alternative medicine so that you can carry out day to day work without any hinderance.
Q) Does ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET make you gain weight? A) Yes, when taken for a long time ALLERMAX PLUS TABLET increases appetite, which can cause weight gain.
