Uses of ACIGRIP P TAB
ACIGRIP P TAB belongs to a group of medicines called Proton Pump Inhibitors. ACIGRIP P TAB reduces the amount of acid produced in your stomach. ACIGRIP P TAB is used for treating acid-related disorders of stomach and intestine. ACIGRIP P TAB is used to treat reflux esophagitis in adults and adolescents aged 12 years of age and above. ACIGRIP P TAB is used along with two antibiotics to treat infection caused by bacterium called Helicobacter pylori in adult patients with duodenal ulcers and stomach ulcers. ACIGRIP P TAB is also used to treat Zollinger-Ellison-Syndrome (condition in which causes overproduction of gastric acid in the stomach).
Special Instructions for ACIGRIP P TAB
• Take ACIGRIP P TAB 1 hour before a meal without breaking or chewing, swallow it with some water.
• Taking ACIGRIP P TAB in the morning will effectively reduce stomach acid production.
• ACIGRIP P TAB is not recommended for children below 12 years unless prescribed by a child specialist.
• If you do not get relief within 10-15 days, discuss with your doctor. There may be some other underlying medical condition which needs to be investigated.
• Inform your doctor immediately if you experience occult blood (blood in stool) and stop taking ACIGRIP P TAB.
• People taking ACIGRIP P TAB for a long time are advised to keep a check on their calcium levels. Taking ACIGRIP P TAB for a long time leads to depletion of calcium and magnesium resulting in brittle and weak bones.
• Check with your doctor once and take additional vitamin and mineral supplements along with ACIGRIP P TAB treatment such as calcium, vitamin D and other essential minerals.
