Q) How does ACCUGLIM MP1 LS TABLET work? A) ACCUGLIM MP1 LS TABLET consists of three anti-diabetic medicines: Glimepiride, Metformin and Pioglitazone. Glimepiride lowers the blood glucose levels by increasing the amount of insulin release from the pancreas. Metformin lowers the glucose production in the liver, delays glucose absorption from intestine and increases body's sensitivity to insulin. Pioglitazone works by increasing insulin sensitivity.
Q) Does ACCUGLIM MP1 LS TABLET cause hypoglycemia? A) ACCUGLIM MP1 LS TABLET helps to lower your blood glucose to as normal level as possible. But sometimes it might cause hypoglycemia (lowering of blood glucose level than normal). Symptoms include fatigue, dizziness, profuse sweating, tachycardia (fast heartbeat), and vision disorders. Regular monitoring of your blood-glucose levels is advised while you are on this medication as hypoglycemia could be a side-effect of ACCUGLIM MP1 LS TABLET. Please consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the above side-effects.
Q) Does ACCUGLIM MP1 LS TABLET cause diarrhea? A) Yes, diarrhea could be a side-effect of ACCUGLIM MP1 LS TABLET. Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and eat small portions of non-spicy meals. Please consult your doctor if you experience excessive diarrhea or if you find blood in the stools (black tarry stools).
